Bence Bauer, LL.M.

Director of the German-Hungarian Institute for European Cooperation

Bence Bauer has been the Director of the German-Hungarian Institute for European Cooperation at Mathias Corvinus Collegium in Budapest since 2020. He  completed both the German and Hungarian State Examinations in Law at the University of Bonn and Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest. After his bar exam, he obtained an LL.M. degree in Comparative State and Legal Sciences from the Andrassy Gyula German Speaking University in Budapest. Bauer  was a member of the Political Assembly of the European People's Party (EPP). For over ten years, he worked for the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) as Project Coordinator, later as Deputy Director of the Hungarian office. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Editorial Board of Hungarian Conservative, and he regularly contributes to periodicals such as Berliner Zeitung, Budapester Zeitung, Cicero, Preußische Allgemeine Zeitung, Tagespost, Tichy’s Einblick and Weltwoche. In 2021, he was awarded the Golden Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit. Since 2023, Bauer is a supervisory board member of the Libri-Bookline Plc.
