Dr. Habil. Sebastian Ostritsch

Dr. Sebastian Ostritsch holds a PhD and habilitation in philosophy. He teaches as a private lecturer at the University of Heidelberg. Ostritsch is the author of several academic and popular philosophy books, including the intellectual biography “Hegel. The World Philosopher” (Ullstein/Propyläen, 2020) and “Let’s Play or Game Over? An Ethics of Video Games” (dtv, 2023). Dr. Habil. Ostritsch conducts research on Hegel and German Idealism, as well as on fundamental metaphysical topics such as existence, time, and eternity, in addition to the philosophy and ethics of gaming. Furthermore, he regularly writes on timeless, current, secular, and religious topics for publications such as Die Welt and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Since January 2024, he has been working as an editor for Die Tagespost, a weekly Catholic newspaper.
