Mechthilde Wittmann MP

Member of the German Bundestag CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group

Mechthilde Wittmann is an attorney-at-law, member of the German Bundestag, and spokeswoman on internal affairs for the CSU state parliamentary group. Since 2021, she has represented the Oberallgäu constituency as a directly elected member and has served as a full member of both the Finance Committee and the Committee on Internal Affairs and Community. Additionally, she is involved in other committees and supervisory bodies, such as the committee pursuant to §28a of the Money Laundering Act or the Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group on Europol.

Her political career started in 1994 as the youngest member of the Munich City Council. And after nearly 20 years of experience as a city councilor and working as an attorney, she entered the Bavarian State Parliament in 2013.

Mechthilde Wittmann studied law at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and supplemented her legal education with postgraduate studies in Compliance & Data Privacy at the University of Augsburg. Before her law studies, she studied mechanical engineering and business administration at the Technical University of Munich.
