Prof. Dr. Susanne Schröter

Dr. Susanne Schröter is an ethnologist and founder and director of the Frankfurt Research Center on Global Islam. She is also a professor at the Institute of Ethnology and director of the Cornelia Goethe Centre for Gender Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt. Schröter earned her Ph.D. in ethnology at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and completed her habilitation at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. Her research focuses on gender studies, the relationship between religion and politics, and the influence of political Islam on German society, making her an essential voice in discussions on transatlantic partnerships. Schröter's expertise in religion and political integration is highly relevant to current transatlantic challenges, particularly regarding societal inclusion and security policies. Additionally, her work on gender and diversity in religious contexts (Islam and Christianity) informs debates on social equality across transatlantic countries.
